'National Flowers'

A time served cabinet maker with more than 40 years experience, Philip Bastow specialises in the design and craft of bespoke commissions using beautiful British hardwoods (whenever possible).

Philip is a true craftsman, taking great pride in every furniture project and following the ethos that a true artist doesn't make the wood into an object but sets the object free from inside of the wood.

Traditional, Quality

Philip Bastow is dedicated to creating bespoke furniture designed to your exact specifications and lovingly hand crafted to the very highest standards.

From the initial design and careful selection of timber to the final polish and hand wax, you are guaranteed a beautiful, unique piece of furniture that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

Onto New Pastures

Having been based in the village of Reeth in Swaledale for 36 years, Philip has now moved to Viewforth, Marwood, Barnard Castle. Based in a temporary workshop, Philip is currently only working on smaller commissions, repair jobs and carvings.

Now that the plans for the new workshop have been passed, it's only a matter of time before Philip can take on larger commissions!
